Terms and Conditions for Maritime Crewing Services
These terms and conditions govern the use of Ocean Line LLC's maritime crewing services. By engaging our services, you agree to be bound by these terms.
1. Service Agreement
Ocean Line LLC provides maritime crewing services including but not limited to crew recruitment, placement, management, and visa assistance. Services are provided subject to these terms and any specific agreements entered into with clients.
2. Client Obligations
Clients agree to:
- Provide accurate information about vessel requirements and operating conditions
- Comply with all applicable maritime laws and regulations
- Maintain proper insurance coverage for crew members
- Provide safe working conditions and adequate provisions
- Honor employment contracts and payment obligations
- Notify us promptly of any issues or changes in requirements
3. Seafarer Obligations
Seafarers agree to:
- Maintain valid certifications and medical fitness
- Perform duties competently and professionally
- Comply with vessel rules and international maritime law
- Report for duty as scheduled
- Provide accurate information about qualifications and experience
- Follow safety procedures and emergency protocols
4. Fees and Payments
Service fees are as agreed in individual contracts. Payment terms typically include:
- Recruitment fees payable upon successful placement
- Management fees for ongoing crew support
- Additional charges for visa processing and travel arrangements
- Late payment fees may apply for overdue accounts
5. Cancellation and Refunds
Cancellation policies vary by service type. Generally:
- Recruitment fees are non-refundable once placement is confirmed
- Visa processing fees may be partially refundable if processing hasn't begun
- Management fees are prorated based on service duration
6. Confidentiality
Both parties agree to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information including vessel details, crew personal information, and business operations.
7. Compliance and Regulations
All parties must comply with:
- International Maritime Organization (IMO) regulations
- Maritime Labour Convention (MLC) 2006
- STCW Convention requirements
- Local and international immigration laws
- Anti-discrimination and equal opportunity laws
8. Dispute Resolution
Disputes will be resolved through:
- Direct negotiation between parties
- Mediation if negotiation fails
- Arbitration under Georgian law if mediation fails
- Legal action as a last resort
9. Force Majeure
Neither party is liable for delays or failures due to circumstances beyond reasonable control, including natural disasters, pandemics, government actions, or labor disputes.
10. Modifications
These terms may be modified at any time. Continued use of services constitutes acceptance of modified terms.
